Areas of Interest

Mental health issues often go undiagnosed, leaving those afflicted suffering in silence. Ruth has helped her clients overcome complex feelings of guilt, shame, fear, abandonment, grief, anxiety, depression and self-worth that impeded them from leading full and self-actualized lives. For the past decade, Ruth’s practice has centred on supporting women escaping intimate partner violence; and has helped her clients identify the “red flags” associated with coercive control, financial abuse, parental alienation and emotional abuse during the marriage and post-separation. Ruth has helped people struggling with dramatic life changes such as the death of a loved one, job loss, eating disorders, confronting childhood trauma, i.e. survivors of physical and sexual abuse and dealing with depression and anxiety. Using a CBT approach, Ruth has helped her clients survive their trauma and let go of those elements which may have impeded their personal growth
